What does it actually mean to feel grounded in your body?
We use the word grounded often, but grounding is more than simply feeling calm.
It can be the experience of feeling supported.
Steady.
Present.
Connected to your body and to the space around you.
In Ayurveda, these qualities matter because health is not only about what we eat or what we know. It is also shaped by how we move, breathe, rest, circulate, and respond.
In The Grounded Body, we’ll explore grounding through accessible movement, breath, rhythm, sensory awareness, and Ayurvedic principles—so that grounding becomes something you can actually feel and practice.
This is not about performing a movement correctly.
It is about noticing what helps your body experience a little more steadiness, support, and connection.

There are moments when another woman’s story does not feel like someone else’s story.
It lands in the body.
In the recognition of how easily a woman can become a headline, a case, an unnamed victim, a cautionary tale—while the fullness of who she was disappears behind what was done to her.
And something in us says: no.
No woman’s body is public property.
No woman’s boundaries are negotiable.
No woman owes access, compliance, silence, softness, or forgiveness.
We belong to ourselves.
That is what sovereignty means to me.
It does not mean that women should have to become harder in order to survive this world. It means that our tenderness and our ferocity belong to us equally. Our voices. Our bodies. Our anger. Our boundaries. Our choices. Our lives.
The image of the battle axe has stayed with me because the phrase itself was once used to diminish a certain kind of woman—the woman who was too forceful, too outspoken, too difficult to control.
I want to reclaim her.
Not because I want women to live armed for battle.
But because I want us to remember that there is nothing shameful about becoming formidable when the world has repeatedly asked women to become smaller.
So this is for the woman whose name we know.
The woman whose name we never learned.
The woman who survived.
The woman who did not.
The woman who spoke.
The woman who could not.
And for every woman who has ever had to remember that her life belongs first and finally to herself.
SOVEREIGN.
I belong to myself.

Introducing The Grounded Body, the first class in Embodied Ayurveda: Living Ayurveda Through the Body.
In this movement-led, experiential class, we’ll explore simple Ayurvedic practices to help you cultivate steadiness, warmth, and ease. Rather than just learning about Vata—the principle associated with movement and change—you’ll experience how to work directly with your body to feel more settled, present, and resilient.
Together, we’ll practice accessible standing and seated movement, breath, sensory awareness, and gentle self-touch at marma points. We’ll finish with guided rest and time to integrate.
You’ll leave with a take-home practice kit and a simple sequence you can return to when life feels fast, full, or overstimulating.
Two opportunities to attend the same class—choose the evening that works for you:
🌿 Sunday, November 1 · Columbia Gorge Yoga
🌿 Sunday, November 15 · Trinity Body Arts
Both sessions: 6–7:30 pm
$40 per session, including your take-home kit

Healing isn’t always about doing more.
Sometimes it begins by slowing down enough to listen.
To your body.
To your breath.
To the quiet wisdom that has been there all along.
At Conscious Nectar, every appointment begins with listening—to your story, your body, your constitution, and the patterns that have shaped your health.
Together, we cultivate a deeper relationship with your body through curiosity, understanding, and the timeless principles of Ayurveda.
From there, we create a personalized path using herbal medicine, marma therapy, rejuvenative body therapies, education, and simple daily rituals that support your body’s innate capacity for balance and healing.
My hope isn’t simply that you feel better when you leave.
It’s that you understand your body more deeply, so you can care for it with confidence.
This work is about cultivating relationship—with your body, with nature, and with the rhythms that support lasting well-being.
Healing is not rushed.
It is tended.

Your body is always gathering information.
A shift in someone’s tone.
A change in distance.
A feeling that something isn’t right.
Instinct does not always arrive as a loud alarm.
Sometimes it comes as a quiet signal.
Women are often taught to explain that signal away.
But your instinct is information.
You are allowed to listen.
