All things acne scars⬇️👩‍🔬

Most people don’t have just one scar type, which is why treating them all the same often leads to underwhelming results. Ice pick, rolling, boxcar, hyperpigmentation, PIE, and hypertrophic scars all form differently, this is why they respond to different approaches.

Ice pick scars usually form from deep inflammation that damages collagen way down in the skin. When the breakout heals, the skin can’t rebuild that tissue evenly, so it leaves behind those tiny deep “puncture-like” scars. These are super common after cystic acne because the inflammation goes so deep.

Boxcar scars happen when collagen loss occurs in a wider area instead of one narrow point. The skin heals with more defined edges and a broader indented appearance, almost like little dips in the skin. Depending on how much collagen was damaged, they can be more shallow or more deep.

Rolling scars form differently because there’s usually fibrous bands underneath the skin literally pulling the surface downward while collagen loss is happening around it. That’s what creates that soft wave-like texture and shadowing instead of sharp pits. These tend to happen more from long-term inflammation or repeated breakouts in the same areas.

Hypertrophic scars are basically the opposite situation. Instead of losing collagen, the skin produces too much while trying to heal inflammation. That extra collagen buildup creates raised scars that stay within the original breakout area.

PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) isn’t technically a true scar, it’s leftover pigment produced after inflammation triggers melanocytes. The skin makes excess melanin during healing, leaving behind brown marks after breakouts heals.

PIE (post-inflammatory erythema) also isn’t a true scar. It’s more related to vascular damage and lingering inflammation. Tiny blood vessels near the surface stay dilated after the breakout heals, leaving behind pink, red, or purplish marks.

Not every season is for blooming.

Sometimes it’s for clearing things out,
pulling back, resetting, and being honest about what’s not working anymore.

That might look like letting go of draining people,
breaking habits that keep you stuck,
or finally taking care of your health, sleep, stress, all the little things you’ve been putting off.

It’s not always pretty, and it doesn’t always feel productive, but it matters.

Because you can’t grow in an environment that isn’t supporting you.

When you start watering what actually matters.
Your body, your energy, your routines, your peace, and your relationship with God.

Slowing down, praying, and reconnecting brings a kind of clarity and calm you can’t fake. It truly just hits different.

And honestly, it’s the small things that add up.
Drinking your water, moving your body, taking care of your skin, spending time with those you love, and getting enough rest.

Sometimes it’s even simpler than that.
You might just need some sun, fresh air, and a clean space.

If you’ve been feeling off lately, it doesn’t mean you’re failing. You might just be in a season of resetting.

Keep showing up anyway.
I promise you’ll harvest what you’ve been tending to . 💐🤍

This is what 9 months of consistency and dedication looks like!👏

Acne isn’t about attacking the skin.

It’s about finding your perfect exfoliation threshold which is the exact point where we stimulate correction, without overwhelming your barrier.

Too little exfoliation? Congestion stays trapped.
Too much? Inflammation increases, oil ramps up, and the barrier weakens.

Clear skin lives in the middle.

Over the past 9 months, we strategically cycled:

• Custom corrective peels
• Osmosis Vitamin A facial infusions to support DNA repair + cellular turnover
• Barrier-repair phases between stimulation
• Intentional hydration layering to maintain her moisture barrier
• Adjusted actives based on her current skin needs

Every time we exfoliated, we rebuilt.
Every time we stimulated, we nourished.

Because acne-prone skin doesn’t need punishment.
It needs strategy + continuous hydration.

Healthy skin is resilient skin.
And resilience comes from respecting the barrier while still encouraging it to remodel.
