The small things inside your hair care are more impactful than you think.
Here are my top 3 Do’s and Don’ts for hair care.
Do: • Brush your hair starting from the ends and gently work your way up towards your scalp. Hair is fragile.
Do: • Shampoo your hair at least once with a clarifying shampoo. Follow up with a shampoo prescribed to your hair needs, I.e. hydrating, smoothing… | I personally shampoo my hair 3 x’s to ensure a thorough clean|
Do: •Oil or serum the mids and ends of your hair daily. This helps to keep your hair hydrated and protected from free radical exposure of ever day life. | I moisturize my face everyday, I moisturize my hair every day.|
Don’t: • EVER wash your hair in hot water. This is the fastest way to dehydrate your hair.
Don’t: • Curl and flat iron your hair every day. Touch up with heat should be minimal in between wash/style day. Try to set your self up for success, wear a bonnet or heatless styler at night.
Don’t: • Use brushes meant for styling to detangle your hair. Seems simple enough, but in my expirience many people think a brush is a brush. Brushes are designed to meet a certain hair care need and are not designed for detailing.

•In the salon, I SIT at my station, pull my chair close to the mirror.
•At home, I actually SIT at my kitchen table. I set a big round mirror I found on amazon that lights up. (I’ll take a picture and put it In stories when I get home) •Hotel, I’ll SIT on the floor infront of the floor length mirror that is customary In every hotel room I’ve ever stayed in.
I promise this is a game changer. You will feel more relaxed and less stress even when you’re in a rush.

Five facts about me you may or may not know.
1. I love pickles. I have always had a love for pickles. As a matter of fact when I was little I told people I wanted to be a picklologist.
2. I have been a hairdresser for over half my life. Seems weird to say that, I don’t feel like I’m old enough for that to be a fact about me, but alas tis’ true.
3. I had a Mohawk in high school. Don’t believe me, scroll through and see for yourself!
4. My family has a zoo, . My Mom and Dad have dedicated their life’s work to Animal Conservation. My brother has followed in his foot steps and taken their passion to the next level.
5. Knowing and understanding what is going on in the world is important to me.

Mother Nature is about to bring us Sweater Weather here in the Midwest.
When the heaters go on they zap ALL the available moisture out of the air.
Causing your hair to become dry and brittle, staticky even.
A couple things you can do to combat this is,
* Wash your hair with cooler water. ( I know this is everyone’s least favorite during the cold months, but it truly makes a big difference.)
* Sleep with a humidifier close to your bed.
* Oli the mids and ends of your hair 2 times a day. (A little goes a long way.)
Save this to refer back to when you kick the heater on.
