As a parent of an autistic child, finding safe and welcoming play spaces means everything!
We’re excited to check out this special sensory-friendly play hour at Adventurz Creative Indoor Playground—designed just for families like ours!

What to expect:
-Only one exit for elopers (like my son 😅)
-Dim lighting
-Closed to the public/judgment free zone
-Music level set to tolerance of guests
-Siblings welcome
-Must wear socks or shoes (with covers provided by the facility) No bare feet due to sanitation

The Wichita Police Department's Autism Outreach Program, in partnership with Heartspring, helps officers better serve community members on the autism spectrum.

Families in the Wichita community can register a child or loved one with autism with the WPD to help first responders prepare for more informed, compassionate responses:

Through this partnership, officers receive specialized training to support individuals who may be in distress and unable to communicate. We also helped equip patrol vehicles with sensory kits, which can:
✅ Help de‑escalate situations
✅ Provide sensory relief
✅ Reduce communication barriers

Together, these resources help make our community safer, more inclusive, and better prepared to serve everyone.

I'm so honored to be part of the team for Night to Shine at Hope Community Church in Andover, Kansas! Night to Shine is a worldwide celebration event, centered on God's love, honoring and valuing people with special needs ❤️ I get to spend the day volunteering alongside my three teenagers. The amazing Sami Halaseh Institute is hosting the stylists, as we do hair, makeup and nails for the honored guests. It's going to be an incredible day!

💛Sensory bags for guests with sensory needs are available at no cost by leaving an ID at our Guest Services desk. To ensure fans have a great guest experience, our Sensory Room located in the South Lobby near Entrance B, provides a dedicated space designed by medical professionals for those who may need a quieter and more secure environment 💛

✨️I can speak from experience that it's helped me as a parent in the past! My child couldn't tolerate the noise level but wanted to enjoy the concert so after using the headphones in the kit, she was able to relax and enjoy the concert. This saved us because the only other option was to head home. If your hesitant about coming, this is an option or you can utilize the Sensory room to have a quiet space to reset.

Hey everybody!

I’ve updated the Sensory Salon hours for the remainder of the school year. While my schedule is a bit more limited, I’m committed to being open as much as possible to support and accommodate the families I serve 💛

I truly understand how crazy life can be. As a full-time mom to five kids ranging from elementary through high school, a homeschool family attending a hybrid learning program, and with my twins recently starting sports, this season is definitely a learning curve 😅
