The Afro doesn’t need a rebrand.
It never did.
Calling it a “cloud bob” might sound trendy, but let’s be real—it erases decades of culture, identity, and pride tied to the Afro.
This isn’t just a hairstyle.
It’s history. It’s resistance. It’s expression.
As stylists, we don’t just follow trends—we respect where they come from.
You can evolve techniques. You can modernize styling.
But renaming something that already has deep roots? That’s not innovation—that’s disconnect.
Let’s give credit where it’s due. Always.
✂️ Real style respects real history.

Those curls didn’t need taming—they needed direction.
We refined the shape, enhanced the natural pattern,
and brought the movement back to life.
Defined. Bouncy. Effortless.
Powered by Aveda —because healthy hair isn’t optional.

Before… a little lost.
After… every curl knows exactly where it belongs.
This wasn’t about cutting it all off — it was about shaping the chaos into intention.
Defined curls, balanced weight, and a silhouette that finally works with the natural texture instead of against it.
That’s the difference between a haircut… and a curly haircut.
Done with Aveda products to keep those curls hydrated, bouncy, and alive long after you leave the chair.

If your curls feel heavy, uneven, or just not doing what they should… it’s time.

We took her from faded, uneven warmth to a rich, dimensional brunette that actually reflects light (not fights it). Then finished it with soft, flowing layers that move instead of just sit there.
This is what happens when color + cut actually work together.
And yes… this is wedding-ready hair. 💍

We kept the length and leveled it up with color. Fine hair doesn’t need to be cut off—it just needs the right strategy.

She walked in with length…
but she left with movement, shape, and confidence.
There’s something about letting go of heavy ends and bringing life back into the hair—suddenly everything feels lighter, fresher… like a reset you didn’t know you needed.
This wasn’t just a haircut.
This was a glow-up in disguise.

Hair Tip Wednesday

Clarifying shampoo can be a great way to reset your hair and scalp — but how often you should use it really depends on your hair type and lifestyle.

Clarifying shampoos remove stubborn buildup from styling products, hard water minerals, chlorine, and environmental residue. But using them too often can strip away natural oils and lead to dryness.

So who benefits from using a clarifying shampoo about once a week?

Heavy Product Users
If you regularly use hairspray, gels, dry shampoo, or silicone-based styling products, buildup can weigh hair down and dull its shine. A weekly reset helps keep hair fresh and healthy.

Hard Water Exposure
Minerals in hard water can leave deposits on the hair that make it feel rough or brittle. Clarifying helps remove those minerals.

Frequent Swimmers
Chlorine and saltwater can cause buildup and even discoloration in lighter hair. Clarifying helps detox the hair.

Oily Scalps
If your scalp produces a lot of oil, clarifying shampoo can help control buildup and restore volume.

Healthy hair always starts with a clean, balanced scalp.

If you're unsure which Aveda products are right for your hair, ask next time you're in my chair.
