So what does “normal” thyroid function actually mean?
Your thyroid plays a role in energy, metabolism, temperature regulation, brain function, heart health and more. TSH is typically the first blood test used to evaluate thyroid function, with additional testing for Free T4, Free T3, and Thyroid Antibodies to provide a fuller picture. And while symptoms like fatigue, weight changes or feeling cold can be associated with thyroid dysfunction, they can also have many other causes — symptoms alone don’t tell the whole story.
