Sunday sneak peek for Hair Stories! Many of you know that I own A Novel Idea Book Shop inside Middle Fork Cafe. Since I already have tons of books for the main location, I’ve decided to make Hair Stories into a salon and mini bookstore! Don’t worry, I’m still keeping the main location, but why not read a book while your color is processing? 😊😊😊

It’s official! ❤️❤️❤️ The salon is officially licensed as Hair Stories! I will be making a new page soon since I’ve tried changing the name on my phone browser and an actual computer and it won’t go through. So keep an eye out and when I have it ready, follow me over to my new page!

I don’t often post hair pics but I had to share this one. She’s a breath of fresh air and had us laughing so hard! She wears pink, green and teal in honor of her niece who passed of metastatic breast cancer about a year ago. This was so fun to get to use my creativity in her colors and the picture just doesn’t do it justice! I didn’t ask for permission to post so I blocked out her face if anyone is wondering.

This little room desperately needed a makeover. While it’s not done getting pretty, as I have stuff yet to bring to make this room more attractive, it’s now a nice little break room/storage room for us, and possibly when #3 comes along, a place for that person to do nails like I did in here. Paint, flooring and trim happened this weekend, and securing the shelves again as well. What you can’t see is that under the little fridge is a pit. That’s where the water main comes in and there is a new heating system installed in the pit to keep the pipes from freezing in the winter. There has always been a trap door over the top that needed to be accessible. It is still there, and while I had purchased the same vinyl plank flooring as the rest of the salon, we ran into the issue of major holes in the concrete and uneven concrete that would make installation a pain. So we patched the holes in the concrete and laid down a sheet of vinyl to get us through several years. Nathan even tacked the trim slightly higher so we can peel back the vinyl so that the trap door is still accessible if necessary! Knocking out projects super fast before I move back!

Once again I thought I got my page name to change but it hasn’t yet. If it doesn’t, I’ll have to make a new page. Anyway, here’s a sneak peek at Hair Stories LLC! Since I already own A Novel Idea Book Shop inside Middle Fork Cafe Willmar I plan to incorporate books for sale around the salon in all the nooks and crannies. I often hear how clients want to go to my main location but can’t make it there, so I decided, why not bring the book shop to the salon?!?! Besides, there’s often processing time for colors and perms, why not have a book to read? So the idea was born for Hair Stories! While I still have tons more work to do around the salon before I move back over, I thought I’d share one of two sneak peeks of projects this weekend. This one is new towel cabinets, as the one fell apart when taking it down. Nathan decided it made a horrible hula hoop as it fell apart around him removing it from the wall! Although I thought it was a pretty funny sight once I made sure he was ok! The other pic I’ll hopefully share later of the far back room where I used to do nails. Paint, flooring and trim happening in there this weekend also.

That’s a wrap! New flooring, vanity and sink, light, trim, repair the step going into the bathroom, new vent cover, tp holder, and several trips to Menards for plumbing supply runs and lighting due to planning errors on my part (I wanted pretty lighting but I’m stuck with the functional b**b light after trying two other light options and not being able to open the door fully). I couldn’t have done it without my awesome fiancé! He did much of this project! He says this is one of our shorter projects, and I suppose it is. We rarely have a project that we manage to finish in a weekend! We have more work to do next weekend pertaining to licensing but it’s coming along nicely!

I’m still at Salon Nouveau while I remodel Salon Mar. Ah. Khee (soon to be Hair Stories), but big changes are in the works! As all of you know, Nathan and I are no strangers to projects! The bathroom has needed some tlc for years, so after work today, we started in on a quick project. Complete bathroom remodel! Yes this needs to be fully functioning by Monday! We got it half done today, expected to finish tomorrow! 😊

Big things coming within the next month!! I knew things were changing at the salon I’d been at for the last several years. Melissa had presented me with the opportunity to own and I initially passed it up as I didn’t think I wanted to own. So I’d decided to move to Salon Nouveau so that I could continue renting. The ladies there are great and the salon is lovely. Fast forward several weeks, I was settling in nicely there. Then I was presented with the opportunity to own my former salon once again. Melissa made me an offer I just couldn’t refuse! Along with that, the building owner where I previously was expressed interest in keeping the space as a salon and wanted to work with me so it wouldn’t have to close. He also made me an offer I couldn’t refuse! So although I initially have fought owning a salon, I listened to the big guy upstairs showing me this is what’s next for me! I’ve been given a huge blessing and opportunity to own so I took it! Hair Stories, LLC will become a reality within the next month! This all came about in the last two weeks, with it becoming official today!

For any clients reading this wondering about nails again, yes that will get to happen again, I physically haven’t had time to reach back out to all of you yet after the whirlwind week!! Also since Facebook wouldn’t allow me to change my page name, eventually I’ll be creating a new page for y’all to follow once I catch a breather!

For whatever reason, Facebook wouldn’t change my page name, but I’m still posting as Nicole Twedt at Salon Nouveau. I need to work on that again someday!
Anyhoo… this little cheese needed a cut, nana hasn’t had time to cut the little man’s hair in months!!

Sneak peek of my space here at Salon Nouveau!!! Most of you will recognize everything, just used differently this time around. I added/changed a few things, but most everything is the same, just arranged differently. I’ll also continue to carry all your favorite products, and there’ll be no need to pay two separate people anymore! Don’t see what you love? Ask me, I’ll see if I can order it for you! I look forward to seeing you all soon!

Btw, I’ve requested a name change for my page, hopefully Facebook will update my name soon!

Hey everyone! My station looks a little different today, doesn’t it? I have some BIG NEWS for you all! I’m moving to a new salon! While I’ve very much loved my time at Salon Mar.Ah.Khee, the time has come for a new adventure! As of Monday July 22, I will be at Salon Nouveau, 2125 1st St S, Willmar. It’s located in the back of the Fenstra Insurance building between Cub Foods and TJ Maxx. I’m looking forward to seeing you all at Salon Nouveau!
