Let’s talk sun protection…

Wearing sunscreen/sunblock helps prevent sunburns, premature aging and skin cancer.

☀There are 2 types: Mineral sunblocks and chemical sunscreens.
☀Mineral sunblocks sit on top of skin and reflect UV rays.
☀Chemical sunscreens pe*****te the skin and absorbs UV rays.
☀SPF is the relative measure of the amount of sunburn protection in sunscreens.
☀SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB rays, while SPF 50 blocks 98%.
☀Blockage is not linear, past SPF 50, there is only minimal extra protection.
☀Sunscreen and sunblock should be reapplied every 2 hours when directly in the sun.

IMO, whether it is chemical or mineral, it is important to protect your skin everyday. (Especially your face to prevent premature aging).

I personally prefer mineral on my face bc my eyes are sensitive to chemical sunscreens if I am sweating or rubbing my eyes(and I love to rub my eyes😩). I use Intellishade TruPhysical everyday.

Here's what we did with this lovely patient.

1. Morpheus Prime is radio frequency microneedling that focuses on the area around the mouth including the Marionette lines, nasolabial folds and submental area. Nerve blocks and topical numbing ointment utilized making pain minimal.

2. Neurotoxin every 3-4 months for her in DAO and Neck bands to decrease the pull from the corners of the mouth down and neck bands to decrease the pulling in the jowl area.
