Kicking off the sweaty summer season with a fresh head of highlights ☀️

This beauty asked me if there’s any difference between the way you treat highlighted hair and virgin hair and the answer is yessss…..

Hair that’s been highlighted (or chemically treated) needs special treatment!
👉🏻 First things first is being a bit more gentle with your hair. No more ripping through knots, work from the ends up and use a leave-in conditioner to give you some slip.
👉🏻 Wash your hair a little less frequently. Blonde hair won’t appear as oily as darker hair colors and needs the extra moisture from the oil to stay healthy
👉🏻 And lastly, use a heat protectant!! Applying heat to the hair without any protection will not only damage it but make it turn yellow. 😳

Caring for copper and red hair color isn’t easy in the summer! The sun, chlorine & salt all take a toll on your locks and causes your beautiful color to fade out faster than normal. Here’s a few tips and tricks to help keep your hair healthy in the summer…

☀️ Use a UV protectant like sun veil! It’s like a sunscreen for your hair
☀️ ALWAYS wet your hair and apply a leave in conditioner before swimming (if you can’t keep your hair completely out of the water)
☀️ Rinse your hair with clean water after swimming to get rid of any salt or chlorine

Let’s talk about curling fine hair! It’s a struggle… how many times have you curled your hair perfectly just for everything to fall the second you walk away 🫥

There’s totally a solution you know…. It’s all about the prep work! Next time you go to curl your hair, try scrunching a mousse throughout before blowdrying, then apply a little light hold hairspray BEFORE curling. And of course top it off with more hairspray!
