Wade Pope cut hair in Wilmington for 66 years before turning his barbershop over to us almost 3 years ago.

To all those who often ask how he’s doing, here’s a recent photo of him getting cleaned up by his successor and current shop owner Paul Wahl.

Classic Pomp & Beard by Paul Wahl

This is Frank and the Belmont chair he cut hair out of for 40 years.

I’ve been a fan of Vintage Belmont chairs since I first learned about them in Barber School and have used them exclusively in both my barber studio and shop.

The chair was listed on Marketplace for next to nothing so I thought it might be a scam. But I messaged regardless.

Turns out, it was a legit good deal and Frank just wanted to see the chair go to a good home. He even refused when I tried to give him more than his asking price.

To top it off, Frank held on to the chair for a few days until I could get over to his town to pick it up.

Thanks to Frank, we have an another classic Belmont at Galaxy that will, Lord willing, get many more years of use!

We need 2 Free Haircut models (adult men) this evening at the shop from 645-8:30 PM. Preferably a skin fade and regular gentleman/business cut.
