The first spa I worked at I looked up my reviews as often as possible, my first 3 star review made me rethink everything. I still have the screenshot and can remember the sinking feeling. “She was okay but felt like a student massage not a high quality massage”.

I was angry at first and then sad but truth be told… they were right. After learning enough to land the job I fell stagnant and lazy on developing my skills. That review changed the trajectory of my career. Sometimes the truth hurts, but we adapt and overcome 🌱

Wren Massage Therapy 🪶🪹

Where clinical precision meets somatic restoration, the wren way. 🌱

Allow me to take you on a condensed version of the story of this business. (Because I hit the character limit)

For the last two years I split my time working in the medical and spa setting.

Showing up full time doing medical massage therapy, creating treatment plans, billing insurance, writing clinical SOAP notes. Then I’d go work at the spa, doing scrubs, hot stones, essential oils, slow relaxation flows.

Always feeling incomplete and pretty miserable honestly, I wanted to work somewhere where I could do both. So I looked everywhere, left feeling frustrated and trapped.

One breakdown later, I decided I should just create what I envisioned and start my business dream earlier than my predetermined timeline.

Fall of 2025 - told myself I’d leave my jobs by February.
January 2026- saw a listing for a rental space in the exact location I’d been looking. This space also gave me the option to finally adopt a dog because I was local to the area.
February 2026 - signed the lease.
February 27th, finished my last shift.
February 28th, adopted my puppy.
March 1st, opened for business.

Sometimes all you have to do is give yourself permission to create the life you want and take the leap when an opportunity presents itself.

New name, new logo, same values 💫✨🫶

Why the name change? Read below ⬇️

During massage school we had a project where we made a mock business, I fell in love with a name Wren ____, since 2019 I felt stuck on that name…. Until I started planning to actually open my first business. Honestly, after a bad relationship & the fear of continuously being harassed by this individual I was really scared to name the business after me. This individual lives in the area, the anxiety was paralyzing me. I never felt connected to Balance Bodywork & Massage Therapy & I told myself I would rebrand when I felt better. When I felt safer, more at peace. I don’t totally feel safe or at peace but I do feel ready to show up more authentically. My story isn’t rare or unique and since this experience I’ve connected with so many individuals (women & men) that had felt unsafe after a breakup. May you all find ways to feel safe, confident & show up more authentically you 💗

On the business side, honestly people didn’t like the name. It wasn’t flowing to the public like it did in my brain & that’s okay! Sometimes we have to pivot.
