Will my wax hurt? I'm on my period! EXFOLIATE!
Waxing can be a little uncomfortable, but we use high quality wax that adheres only to your hair (not your skin) for your most delicate areas. Your first time will probably be the most uncomfortable, but when you get on a regular waxing schedule your hair will grow back slower and finer. This will make each wax easier and easier. How much hair do I need to have in order to be waxed? Your hair needs to be between 1/4 to 1/2 inch in order for it to pull effectively. A good rule of thumb is that it should be at least the length of a grain of rice, however, the longer the better! Can I still get my Brazilian? The short answer is yes. While being on your period may make your skin a little bit more sensitive, it is completely okay to get waxed on your period. We just ask that you put in a fresh tampon right before your service. Don’t worry we offer plenty of feminine products in our Powder Room! What should I do to prepare for my first wax? Exfoliating helps to get rid of any dead skin that may be trapping the hair. The less dead skin you have, the smoother your results will be. Avoid any heavy lotions the day of your wax appointment, but maintain the integrity of your skin by moisturizing IN BETWEEN appointments. This will ensure that your follicle is pulled out smoothly rather than breaking off. Is there anything I can do to make my service less painful? Most people agree that their waxing service was not as painful as they anticipated. However, if you are concerned about discomfort you are welcome to take an over the counter pain reliever, such as ibuprofen or Tylenol, 30 minutes before your appointment. Avoid caffeine the day of your appointment, as well as alcoholic beverages as these can make your skin more sensitive. Still have questions?
