Stylists ask yourself honestly: is your method still standing at week 8?

Day one is easy. Anything looks good day one.

The real test is what happens after eight weeks of workouts, swim days, wash days, and being thrown up in a ponytail on a Tuesday she was running late.

Methods claims to be gentle. Methods claims to be safe. Almost none of them will show you a follicle after 8 weeks of wear.

The answer depends on both the type of beaded foundation and the condition of the hair.

Take a beaded foundation thats installed close to the scalp. Hair stretches when wet and contracts as it dries, so for this specific foundation a bead placed on wet hair will pull back as the strand dries, creating tension on the follicles.

Now take a beaded foundation installed away from the scalp Like MANE LUXE METHOD. Here the hair isn’t stretched. The beads are either left open or softly closed until the hair dries and then adjusted to their final resting area. That means the hair isn’t in a weakened state and its not stretched causing follicle tension in its final position.

We also cant forget that the hairs condition matters too.

Wet hair is already in a weekend state. Now add over-processed, chemical or head damage and you compress a bead closed during the weakest state….. that pressure can snap or fracture the strands.

So the answer….

It depends.

It comes down to the Method you’re using and the overall integrity of the hair itself.

You’re gonna hear a hundred different answers to this and honestly that’s okay.

There’s so many opinions out there and everybody’s got a reason for what they believe.

You just have to actually understand what’s happening underneath. The nape isn’t the same as the crown.

The hair’s finer, the scalp moves more, and if you install it the exact same way you’d install up top, yeah, that’s where it goes wrong.

It was never about whether the area “can” handle it. It’s about whether you know how to read it and how to adjust the install according to what the area needs and knowing if that follicle can actually support what you’re putting in it.

Understanding the cause and effect of every choice you make and having the knowledge to know how to course correct for any situation that may occur.

That’s the whole thing for me.

You can do anything as long as you understand the why behind it and you’re protecting the scalp and follicles for the long run.

Two clients can receive the exact same install and their extensions will behave completely differently.

When you start looking at installs through the lens of anatomy and force distribution, you realize something quickly:

Extensions aren’t just cosmetic.
They’re structural.

And the moment you understand how head shape changes tension flow your entire approach to installs starts to shift.

There’s a reason some installs feel effortless and others constantly fight the scalp.

Most stylists are just placing rows.

Very few are studying the structure they’re placing them on.

So the real question is…
If every head has different structural landmarks, why are so many installs still being done the exact same way?
