We have two winners to recognize this week.

This week’s Thankful Thursday winners are Susana Bowling and Steven Kramp.

Susana works in the Ambulatory department as an RN here at William Newton Hospital and has been an employee for nearly 1 year. She chose a $100 gift card to Rejuvv' Spa! If you see Susana around make sure to congratulate her and thank her for her dedication to WNH.

Steve works in the Cath lab as an RN here at WNH and has worked here for nearly 2 years. He chose to receive a $100 Walmart gift card. Make sure to thank and congratulate Steven when you see him.

Both of these wonderful employees get to work in the newest part of the hospital, the H.L. Snyder Medical Foundation Surgery Center.

This act of generosity is one of the many examples that show how strong our foundation is, starting right here in the halls of William Newton Hospital.

This week’s Thankful Thursday winner is Lola Potucek. Lola is currently the Case Manager and has been an employee of WNH for over 23 years!

We awarded our final Thankful Thursday gift certificate a few weeks ago, so we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the Thankful Thursday program. Since the first Thursday in November, we have awarded 20 employees with $100 gift certificates to local businesses through a random weekly drawing, thus putting $2,000 back into our local economy. The Thankful Thursday project was underwritten by one individual, a William Newton Hospital employee who wished to remain anonymous. The donor’s hope for this project was to show their fellow employees how much they are appreciated and lift up local businesses. The pandemic has greatly impacted business and commerce, as well as the employees’ emotional states not only locally in our community, but all around the world. These Thankful Thursday drawings helped lift everyone’s spirits, and gave our employees something to look forward to every week. We want to say thank you to this anonymous donor for making this project possible, and for the goodwill and generosity that they spread around the hospital. Thank you to the anonymous donor, all of our employees, and local businesses for all you do for our hospital and our community. #wearewilliamnewton

At a recent WNHF board meeting, it was a unanimous decision to award the WNH Marketing team with the 2020 Second Century Stewardship Award. This annual award began in 2019 (awarded to Foundation director Annika Morris), and is given to those who show extreme dedication and passion for the future of William Newton Hospital with their actions, words, and deeds.

The award features a custom shovel used at the Surgery Center groundbreaking in 2018. (Fun fact: Sarah and Kylie painted these shovels green in preparation for the groundbreaking. We also want to give a shoutout to Danny & WNH's maintenance crew for turning the shovel into a beautiful wall-hanging award!) In addition to the award, two foundation board members gave them each gift cards to College Hill Coffee Winfield, KS and Rejuvv' Spa!

Sarah and Kylie are amazing at what they do, and we—both the foundation and the hospital—would not be where we are today without their visionary work. They make us all look good, assist all departments in informing the public of services available at WNH, and make it a priority to share the impact that is being made here at WNH with our donors. Not only are they talented, they are great to work with. On behalf of Annika, Brittney, and the WNHF board - thank you! You both are incredible assets to WNH!

Happy Thankful Thursday! Thanks to a generous donor, we are on our 11th Thankful Thursday today! We have two featured today: we will be recognizing last week's and today’s winners and businesses.

Due to many of our employees working remotely at this time, we are doing our best to celebrate these Thankful Thursdays in a timely fashion.

Chelsie Bane, one of WNH's awesome employees at the Tallgrass Rural Health Clinic in Sedan, was the lucky winner of a $100 gift certificate to Rejuvv' Spa. What a great way to start your new year! Rejuvv’ Spa has been a passionate supporter of both the hospital and foundation, an active partner who has supported both the Wine-O Trail Run and the Gala for multiple years. Tracie Gordon, owner of the award-winning spa, is also one of the foundation’s board members. We support Rejuvv’ spa, Rejuvv’ Spa supports William Newton Hospital. We are William Newton. Thank you both for all that you do!

Som Khammanyvong was the lucky winner of a $100 gift certificate to the Winfield Recreation Commission. She looks forward to enrolling in an annual gym membership, or using it to take some classes. Another great way to start your new year! Som is our laundry supervisor and helps keep the hospital sparkling and clean, and we appreciate it. Winfield Rec Center has partnered with the hospital on various events including the Wine-O Trail Run, Junebug Jog, Crop Hop, and Mile of Lights. We are grateful for what they do to improve the quality of health in our community. We support Winfield Rec Center, Winfield Rec Center supports William Newton Hospital. We are William Newton. Just another small business you can support during your quarantine! It's not a secret that Rejuvv' Spa is one of my favorite places to visit ❤️❤️❤️ So.. missing out on a facial when I actually have time for one makes me sad! Luckily they have released a peel kit to do from home! (that they will deliver for FREE!) I bought one earlier this week and tried it out last night. It was awesome! Don't let the word peel scare you.. it's mild.. just think good exfoliation = glowing skin! PLUS there is enough for THREE in this kit!! I was pleasantly surprised I would get three home facial peels out of this, along with some samples. It's a great deal.

Plus- Mama's alone time is for the safety of all 🤣🤣🤣 Lock yourself in the bathroom with some wine and give yourself a spa visit!
