FAQ:

1. WHY SHOULD I HIRE A MAKEUP ARTIST?

There are so many things to worry about on your wedding day. What your makeup will look like, who is going to do it, will it last and various other questions related to beauty should not be one of them. Makeup is one of the few things that will live on forever in your pictures from the most important day of your life, and it is important that a professional apply that makeup.

The reason for this is because Conray is knowledgable in products that will work best with your skin to last all day with minimal touch ups required. He is also trained to make sure that the best colors and products are used to suit your skin tone and type. It is a luxury service that has never been regretted by any of Conray’s clients.

2. DO YOU DO HAIR?

Conray is certified in makeup, and that is his specialty. Because of this, he does not do braids and up dos. He will do simple hair styles in addition to the makeup. If you are interested in a recommendations for bridal hairstylists, he has worked with many that he trusts to refer, and will be glad to put you in touch with them.

Conray does prefer his clients to choose their own hair stylists based on their wants and needs for their preferred bridal hair look. He has found that when you choose two artists that are specialized in their own craft, you will get the most beautiful results.

3. HOW DO I BOOK YOU FOR MY DATE?

Once you decide to book, a signed contract and 50% deposit will secure the date. The remaining 50% is due one week before your wedding/event. Please note that dates are booked on a first come, first serve basis, and will not be final until a contract and deposit are received. A verbal agreement via email/phone will not be sufficient to book your date.

4. DO YOU TRAVEL TO ME OR DO I HAVE TO COME TO YOU?

Part of the luxury service that is hiring a makeup artist is not having to leave your place of comfort and have the artist come to you. Conray is no exception to that! He will gladly travel to you and also invites you to come to his in-home studio as well.

5. DO YOU CHARGE A TRAVEL FEE?

Yes, after a 60 mile round trip, there will be a travel fee added to your balance. The exact fee will be based on your location, and can be discussed at your time of booking.

6. DO YOU CHARGE FOR EVENTS/WEDDINGS HELD ON A HOLIDAY?

Yes, there is a 20% surcharge for bookings on a holiday. However, Conray does not accept bookings on Thanksgiving or Christmas.

7. DO YOU PROVIDE AIRBRUSH MAKEUP AS A SERVICE?

Absolutely! Conray; although trained in airbrush, prefers using traditional makeup. He finds that it is easier to manipulate to get the same, if not better, result than airbrush. He will be glad to go over with all of his thoughts on airbrush at your consultation, and if you are set on having airbrush, it is an option for a additional fee.

8. HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY BRIDAL TRIAL?

Conray asks that you wear a white or ivory shirt the day of your trial. The makeup will look different against different colors, so to be sure your makeup will look the same on your big day as the day of your trial, it is recommended you wear the same color as your dress.

It is also a great idea to book your trial on a day where you have a lot to do. It will be the best test as to the longevity of the makeup on your skin when you wear it on a busy day. Please note that Conray only books trials on Friday after 5pm or on Saturdays depending if the date is available.

9. HOW LONG ARE YOU WITH THE BRIDE ON HER WEDDING DAY?

That is totally dependent on the bride. If you choose to have Conray with you after the time it takes to get you and your bridal party ready, he can be booked hourly for touch ups. If you choose to have him with you the entire day throughout your reception, he will be happy to discuss his day rate with you. This helps put the bride at ease when she knows that her makeup will be the freshest it can be throughout her entire day.

10. WHAT MAKEUP DO YOU CARRY IN YOUR KIT?

Conray does not carry one specific brand of makeup in his kit. He has tried and tested hundreds of products and has chosen the very best for his clients. He carries everything from Eve Pearl, Hourglass, Charlotte Tilbury, Urban Decay, La Mer, Caudalie, Peter Thomas Roth, and much much more. He believes that if your paying for a luxury service, that should also include luxury products.
