Whenever I work with a horse in a pasture with their friends, nine times out of ten the other horses will enjoy being near and will even have some releases on their own
💫
And some select few make sure to let me know they want to be next…

Did you know…
horses can sense a human heartbeat from four feet away?
This incredible skill is thanks to their acute hearing and heightened senses from being a prey species.
Another fun fact that is even less likely known is that when working together, horse and human heart rates can become synchronized. This phenomenon is called “Heart coupling”.
Have you noticed when you’re experiencing stress or anxiety around your horse, they express more unease themselves? Or when you are being particularly mindful near a horse, have you noticed their emotions become more regulated? Some physical signs of this look like lowering of the head, eyes softening or closing, deep breaths/blowing out, or licking and chewing.
✨
I encourage you to try this at the barn:
Stand next to your horse, facing the same way at them, maybe even placing a gentle hand on their shoulder. Practice some deep breathing and mindfulness techniques and see what happens.
