Biotin is one of the most marketed supplements for hair growth, but for most people, there’s little evidence that it improves hair growth unless you’re actually biotin deficient…which is rare!

POV: You’ve used a heating pad for hours every day for years 🫣

This lace-like discoloration is called erythema ab igne (‘toasted skin syndrome’). It’s caused by repeated exposure to heat sources The good news? Early cases may improve if the heat source is removed

Common culprits include:
🔥 Heating pads
🔥 Heated blankets
🔥 Space heaters
🔥 Hot water bottles
🔥 Laptop computers resting on the skin
🔥 Heated car seats

In this case, the patient had been sleeping with a heating pad on their back for several hours each day.

✨ If you rely on a heating pad for chronic pain, try limiting use to 15–20 minutes at a time, place a layer of clothing or a towel between the pad and your skin, and avoid falling asleep with it on.
