Super excited to be picked for best use of color!!! 🥰

This is my submission to the March 2024 Soap Challenge Club. For this month’s challenge, we were tasked with creating a landscape scene with a frame around it. I immediately knew I wanted to try to do an etch a sketch! The landscape portion was made using a simple scraper, a palm tree and a sun embed followed by some mica pencil lines. It’s tough to tell on camera but both the embeds and pencil lines are dark grey (classic etch a sketch colors). Once the landscape soap was made, I added the frame in red with some cute dial button embeds. To complete the look, I stenciled the word Etch A Sketch with white soap dough. I was a little distraught by the stearic spots on the red soap portion (I knew I should have CPOP’d) however as a good friend said – It’s vintage! Overall, I’m super happy with how this turned out and think they are adorable!

War of the Worlds Soap - I'm super happy to announce I've won 3rd place in this month's Soap Challenge Club!!!! October was a blind challenge meaning we could not post anything on social media until the contest was over. For the challenge we had to select a Cowboy or Alien themed soap. I of course had to do Aliens!! For my entry I selected a war of the worlds theme. This soap was created using 3D printed extruders and lots and lots of patience. I love how these turned out!

I also made a second soap for the Bonus category aptly called "Best Friends". Who doesn't love Bigfoot and little green men! I think these are so adorable.

This is my entry for the September 2022 Soap Challenge – Plaid. I only did one try this round as this process was intense. I wanted to incorporate some fall colors for this soap, and we were limited to 3 color blocks only. The third color block had to be a combination of the first two. I used orange and teal as my first two colors which when combined create tan. To darken the tan color, I used a fragrance oil that turns soap brown along with some yellow soap dough embeds to tie everything together. The scent for this soap is a delectable blend of Coffee and Vanilla.

I’m so grateful for learning this technique. The little side pieces gave me a big of trouble. For future batches, I’m going to try creating the blocks as the width of the mold instead.

Here is my submission to the August 2022 Soap Challenge – Modified Peacock Swirl. For this I poured the soap into a mold with dividers followed by a Taiwan swirl then a modified peacock S swirl. For the divided sections I used two colors in each of the 3 pitchers. Red and orange, Lime Yellow-Green and Yellow, Blue and Purple. For the fragrance oil I used Bramble Berry’s Yuzu which slows trace and is AMAZING to work with. I adore how the color combinations came out along with the swirl patterns you get from the modified peacock swirl technique.

Colorants used: Nurture’s Soap Neon Red-Orange, Neon Orange Yellow, Full Throttle, Yellow Vibrance, Orchid Purple and Mad Mica’s Blue Tide

Here is my “Bonus” category submission for the February 2022 Soap Challenge Club titled “Yikes!”. This soap is scented in a mix of Brambleberry’s Bonfire and Wholesale Supply Plus Charred Sandalwood (which I thought was a perfect scent combination to reflect a city under attack).
