Hear me out! You can get the silk press & leave the salon looking like a million bucks however when you get outside it frizzes whether it's cold or not, or you don't get the desired look once the stylist is finished.  If you haven't been taking care of your hair, hydrating it, moisturizing it etc. It may not give you the desired look, that silky look, or it may not last how your expected it to. That stylist didn't do anything wrong, you just don't follow a healthy hair care regimen. I believe all silk press packages should come with some type of treatment however one treatment may not fix months or even years of damage & dehydration. The damage didn't happen overnight & neither will the solution. I feel the same about rod sets & twist outs too. P.S. trims play a role in this too Some stylists may not agree but I hear too many clients complain about their silk press not lasting from other ppl but their hair feels like a brillo pad. Well if you went to him or her with Hair this rough, I'm sure it didn't last.
