"Nothing is broken" doesn't always mean "nothing is wrong." 🚗

After a car accident, the ER X-ray answers one question: is there a fracture? But whiplash mostly injures ligaments, discs, and joint capsules, and those don't show up as a break.

In our office, we X-ray to look at what the ER isn't looking for:
✅ Is the natural curve of your neck intact?
✅ Are any segments shifted out of position?
✅ Do the vertebrae move normally, or too much?

Pain can improve in a few weeks while the mechanics stay altered. Left alone, abnormal motion and posture can lead to scar tissue, inflammation, and eventually arthritis. Knowing what's happening early gives us the best chance to help your spine heal correctly.

And the radiation? A neck X-ray series is roughly 0.2 to 0.3 mSv, about the same as a few weeks of natural background radiation.
