​Imagine going into a nail salon to get your typical fill, you overhear a client recommending the eyelash extension services and how much she loves them. You‘ve never had eyelash extensions before so you decide to give them a try after this recommendation. The woman brings you back, sits you in a chair and does your full ‘volume set’ in 10 MINUTES!!!
​
​When this poor client got home, she realized her lashes felt heavy and clumpy, noticeably full of glue.
​
​When she came in to see me, she had a bunch of cluster lashes resembling a strip lash heavily glued along her lash line. The tech also brushed glue along the tips of the lashes making them crunchy and weird looking.
​
​A volume full set takes (in most cases) 2-2.5, sometimes 3 hours. Volume sets consist of handmade fans that are snatched at the base to perfectly wrap around 1 single eyelash. Cluster lashes have square bases which glue onto multiple natural lashes.
​

​This client luckily walked away with little damage to her natural lashes after we removed this set.
​
​This is not to bash anyone but to educate everyone. Be very careful who you let near your eyes. Do your research and make sure your lash tech is properly educated and abiding by state laws.
​
​A lash tech who doesn’t care about your natural lash health is not a good lash tech. Period.
​
​ALL LASH TECHNICIANS MUST BE LICENSED IN THE STATE OF MINNESOTA

​When your natural lashes are dirty, the lash extensions will stick to the dirt/debris in your lashes, not your actual lashes. Since the lash extension never gets a good grip on the natural lash, it’s more likely to fall off faster.
​
​Oils break down lash glue. When oils are present on the lashes, the lash extensions will not only be hard to apply but they will also slowly slip off within the next following days.
​
​Please do yourself and your lash artist a favor by coming to your appointment with a clean lash line. This means no makeup products, no oils, no facial cleansers, no moisturizers, ect.
​
​Reminder: Wiping your face and lash line with a facial/makeup wipe will not be effective because it leaves behind a residue on the lashes.
​
​Lashes are an investment! Take care of them for the best results in retention. 💘

Why does your lash artist reccomend you shower before your appointment?

​✨ It ensures your face and lashes are clean. Clean lashes have the best retention!
​
​✨ Lashes can’t be wet for 24 hours after application. It takes 24-48 hours to allow the glue to cure.
​
​✨ Getting lashes wet or exposing them to steam will affect your lash retention. Lashes will start falling out rapidly (within 24-72 hours).
​
​✨ Most lash artists don’t offer refunds and will charge a full set price when/if you wish to get them fixed. Aftercare of lashes is extremely important. Once an artist puts the lashes on, it’s your responsibility as a client to take care of them.
