Acne is tricky and can be super frustrating. Most of my clients have tried EVERYTHING and either achieved clear skin and their acne returned or never found the “thing” to achieve clear skin. Where I've found success with my clients, is focusing on what causes acne in the first place. Using a customized skin care routine that will address the excess dead skin from getting trapped in the pore, is the first place to start. Hydration and exfoliation, it is so important to include both in your routine. 7 years ago, on this day, I was able to ring the gong for completing my 600th hour of education, required to take state licensing exams. I’m so glad I decided to change careers and pursue a career in esthetics. It’s all been worth it. ❤️

I usually start my day in pretty good spirits after my typical morning routine, but on the days where I need a jolt of energy, without fail, looking at client progress photos instantly keeps me motivated. I absolutely love being a cheerleader on their journey to clear skin!

I thought it would be fun to introduce myself. I haven't posted many photos of myself and that is going to change, starting with this post.

My name is Jennifer and I mostly go by Jenn. Either is fine really but I don't like to be called Jenny.

Esthetics wasn't my first career choice and I wish it had been. When I was in middle school, I wanted to be a graphic designer. I read all I could about the subject and after high school, that is what I pursued.

Favorite subject in school: art
Favorite food: Italian
Favorite beverage: sparkling water
Favorite song: Paradise City
Favorite movie: Goonies
Favorite children's book: Green Eggs and Ham
Favorite music: Anything really, depends on my mood
Favorite color: It has always been pink, until recently I've really liked teal blue as well
Favorite outfit: Anything comfortable. I'm very rarely dressed up. High heels are not something I'd typically wear
Favorite vacation: Jamaica
Favorite animal: I've always loved all types of animals but my favorites are cats and iguanas
Favorite hobby: anything creative. I haven't drawn in a long time but I did love to do that. I've dabbled in photography, painting, scrapbooking, you name it. I love it all. (In fact I used to be an instructor at a Jo-Ann's in the education department, many, many years ago and teaching kids crafting was my favorite)

So, how did I get into esthetics?
If you read above about my love for art and being creative, I found myself doing bridal makeup and wanted more. I knew nothing of esthetics but did a little research and here I am, lol.

I absolutely love what I do and couldn't think of doing anything else. This truly is my passion. I am changing lives every single day, who wouldn't be passionate about that?

Staph Infection: This can resemble acne, but will have asymmetrical borders unlike normal breakouts. If you suspect that you have staph infection, visit a physician right away.

People who have staph infection will often times notice that it "appeared out of nowhere."

Acne Rosacea: Unlike other rosacea subtypes, Papulopustular rosacea can be tamed with the right topical products. Salicylic Acid and L Mandelic Acid have antibacterial properties to help combat this skin condition quickly and efficiently.

People that suffer from acne rosacea will notice flare ups of this condition from sun exposure, alcohol consumption, spicy foods, hot weather, hot baths, hot beverages, stress, etc.

This can be controlled with the correct products unlike other forms of rosacea.

Keratosis Pilaris aka KP: a skin condition that many people battle on their legs and arms, sometimes the face and other parts of the body. This feels rough and can be controlled with the right products. L-Mandelic Acid and L-Lactic Acid can have this under control in no time!

It's cause by skin cells not shedding properly. Little bumps that are not painful but rough to the touch.
