Have a Great Hair Day! Tara Bonhomme (aka "The Hair Nurse") was fascinated with beauty at a young age. This was only the begging.
Tara started doing at-home-photoshoots at the age of 8, cutting her brothers hair with kitchen shears at age 12 and coloring her friends hair in the bathroom during her teen years. She started her formal education shortly after she turned 19 in Los Angeles at The Academy for Salon Professionals. Here she learned her love for the beauty industry. After school she won a trip to NY from Redken on 5th
Ave, where she took a color 9-11 class and found her niche for color correction. From here she started as an assistant in a few salon not knowing where to start her career, along with photoshoots in Hollywood and Las Vegas. As she settled in a large salon in the Woodland Hills close to home, she finished her assistant training by attending Vidal Sassoon in Santa Monica for a 5 day Hair Cutting seminar. She then began multiplying her already small clientele. Here is where Tara was became known as "The Hair Nurse". Transforming many girls from they're at home box color mistakes and color corrections gone bad to beautiful "celebrity" looking hair color. Tara started mentor assistants as she became a stylist finding her second love; educating. Tara now owns her own private, salon suite in Woodland Hills, Ca at Salon Republic. Tara works over full-time at the salon in a 4 day work week. She is currently mentoring Richee, who is always by her side. These two are more than just hairdressers, they are a team, a unit. Tara is now enjoying her career as a blooming stylist, mentor and educator. She balances out her long work weeks with traveling the world any chance she gets. As Dulce Candy said, "Anyone that's her client, knows that your not just her friend, but family too". Who knows what Tara has up her sleeve for the future. Catch her on Instagram and see her grow.
