Feeling any way is a valid excuse to come get a massage.
This is especially true when you feel heavy, stuck, overwhelmed, and just not like yourself.
Time on the table can help calm the chaos. Many clients leave feeling more settled, a little taller, able to take deeper breaths, and saying they didn’t realize how much they needed that massage.

Life has been busy. Grounded in Wellness turned 3 this month! 🥳. I’ve been finishing up some new certifications to enhance the massage work I’ve been doing. And I am staying busy doing the hands on work to create positive changes in your bodies and lives. As things shift and expand, I just wanted to say how grateful I am for all of my clients—past, present, and future.

You can feel when your neck gets tight. You can feel when your hamstrings get tight. Can you feel when your abdominals get tight? Adding abdominal work to your massage sessions creates a softening that affects your entire core.
Your core supports you every step of the way. Are you giving your core some TLC?
When you think of your core, what comes to mind?
The muscles around your torso are more than a 6-pack (or what we wish was a 6-pack 😆). These core muscles regulate abdominal pressure, stabilize your body, and are important for our breathing. When these muscles become short and weak (often related to sitting long periods of time and lack of complete core strengthening), it can lead to pain/discomfort in the low back, neck, jaw, pelvic floor, hips, and diaphragm. Any abdominal surgery creates scar tissue, which can create extra tension in these muscles as well.
Clients are often surprised at the tension they become aware of on the table. I’ve heard comments such as:
“Oh, that’s where I feel pulling when I serve during tennis”
“That spot was always so uncomfortable when I was pregnant”
“I just realized I don’t know when the last time I took this deep of a breath was”
“I feel taller”
“We need to do that again next time”
