5 houses, 4 jobs, 2 hurricanes, multiple road trips… The ups, the downs, every morning, every night… every day, they are there. They are home. ❤️

When I got Zoey, she was a tiny puppy and after going back and forth, I decided to name her after the Greek word Zoe, meaning “life.”

The Greek word Zoe (ζωή) means “life,” specifically referring to the inherent, vibrant life in its fullest sense—encompassing both physical existence and spiritual/eternal life.

When I got her and named her that, I was at a turning point in my own life and had no idea how much she would teach me about, and give me, exactly that…

I always said Zoey was a “special” dog 😂 She was never the brightest. She had SOO much life and love in her, I couldn’t control it. Honestly, if you knew her, especially in her earlier years, you knew she was a complete terror. She was COMPLETELY unhinged 🙃

She just wanted to explore everything and meet everyone, and she loved people SO much she literally couldn’t contain herself 🥺 She jumped, licked faces, scratched everything, got into everything, jumped into guest beds while I had visitors, and ran away on a somewhat regular basis. You name it, she did it.

Every year I kept thinking she would grow up and calm down… but she never did. She was a forever baby 🐾💕

She was a completely different dog with me at home though. Calm, sweet, loving, slightly stubborn, whiny, and fun. She had so much personality…

I had no idea how much she would teach me about life, and especially had no idea how much she would teach me while watching her go 🥹

Zoey taught me how to live. She made me live when I didn’t want to. She made me explore places I never would have explored. She was there for me when no one else was, and when I didn’t want anyone else to be.

She taught me patience.She taught me unconditional love.She taught me life.She taught me aging.And she taught me death.

Zoey was life…
