A foam roller is an EXCELLENT tool that helps keep your muscles moving well, reduces tightness, improves circulation, and can even help prevent injuries! 🙌🏼
✅ Great areas to foam roll:
• Upper back (avoid rolling directly on your neck)
• Lats (sides of your upper back)
• Glutes
• Hamstrings
• Quadriceps
• Calves
• IT band area (focus more on the muscles surrounding it rather than directly on the band if it’s too painful)
• Hip muscles
🚫 Avoid foam rolling directly on:
• Your neck
• The front of your throat
• Your lower back (lumbar spine)
• Joints such as knees, elbows, and ankles
• Bones or your spine
• Areas that are bruised, swollen, injured, or have open wounds
• Varicose veins
💡 A few tips:
• Roll steady and slowly
• Spend about 30–60 seconds on each muscle group
• Breathe deeply and let your muscles relax
• Mild discomfort is normal, but sharp or intense pain is your body’s way of saying “stop”!
Stretching, staying hydrated, strengthening your muscles and foam rolling between appointments all work together to help you move better, feel better, and keep pain from returning. 🙏🏼
Your massage is just the beginning. Foam rolling between sessions will help keep your muscles loose. It will reduce your tension and makes the benefits of your treatment last longer. 😊
