What is a facial peel and how does a facial peel work? Facial peels have been used for thousands of years. A facial peel uses a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. A facial peel can tighten the skin, reduce wrinkles and restore a more youthful appearance. Varying strengths and formulations of solutions can be applied to the skin, depending on the desired results. What is an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) facial peel and how does it work? An AHA facial peel is formulated from Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs). AHAs are a group of naturally occurring acids which are derived from certain plants and fruits, including sugar cane, apples, grapes and citrus. These fruit acids have been used for hundreds of years as moisturizers and skin fresheners. The most commonly used AHAs are lactic acid and glycolic acid. Medical research has advanced our understanding of AHAs and allowed us to create formulations of these products that can treat acne, sun-damaged skin, blotchy pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles and rough, dry skin. Waxing is a technique used to temporarily remove unwanted hair. This hair removal method can be performed on most areas of the body. Regrowth of hair varies from three to eight weeks. We offer facial and body waving services for men and women. We cannot perform waxing services on clients who are taking Accutane, Retin-A or anitbiotics, due to the sensitivity these products cause the skin. We cannot perform lip waxing on clients with cold sores. Please avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours before and after your waxing service to prevent this sensitive skin from burning or lifting. No Scream Cream is available at our spa. It is a topical anesthetic that is applied 35 to 45 minutes before waxing and can ease waxing discomfort up to 50-80%. Ideal hair length is 1/4" - 1/2". We rarely go above our base prices for waxing, but if the waxing is a lot more difficult or takes a lot longer because there is more hair, the esthetician has to charge a little more. With bikini waxing, the price is determined by how much hair you want removed, which varies quite a bit from person to person. You do not have to fit into one of the bikini categories.
