If your hairstylist says yes to everything you bring in... that’s not a green flag.

“That’s a really pretty picture.” My famous last words hehe. That’s what I say almost every week. And it IS pretty. But my clients already know what’s coming next … “that’s not for you.” And I don’t just leave them hanging there. I tell them why. The why behind it is what creates trust.

We’ve all heard it: “well, you’re the expert.” Yes, Sally, I am. So when I say no, that’s exactly why you trust me.

Say it louder for the stylists in the back: NO is a full sentence — and it might be the most trustworthy thing you ever say to a client 🫶

You don’t need to know what I’m doing. You just need to know I heard you.

That’s the whole philosophy.

Its not about the technique or the placement. It’s not about the “how.” Just — did you get what you actually wanted, the thing you couldn’t quite put into words but I somehow understood anyway?

For Rachel, that meant low maintenance: lived-in, soft blonding. A blonde that lives easily, without owning her calendar. AND this also matches her k-tip extension maintenance. A 2 for 1 if you will.

I’m never going to walk her through how I got there (it doesn’t matter!!!!…unless you’re truly curious). She’s never going to ask (because she trusts me!!!). Because none of that was ever the point.

The point was and always has been…listening. Everything else is just what happens behind the chair. Trust the process baby.

My Consultation Process: the live version

come with me to a consultation for one of my client’s who we’re first blonding and then diving into the world of k-tip extensions!

1. Asking their goals
- then I stop talking & listen

2. Get curious about their upkeep
- how often do they want to come back?

3. Tones? Golden? Ashy? Bright?
- She gave me dealer’s choice depending on her skin tone

4. Money piece? Root?
- Given the information about upkeep (good moment for education... if they want blonde up to the root but don’t want to come back every 6-8 weeks, we gotta chat!)

5. Haircut?
- Losing some length given the thought of extensions

6. Explain my plan so we’re all on the same page!

7. Create the magic 💫
