This will be our 4th year participating in the Pawpaw festival held at Horn Farm every September! While pawpaw isn’t keto friendly it is something we have learned to create delicious desserts out of! Cheesecake, whoopie pies, breads, curd, crumb cake and filled donuts! Pawpaw is a native fruit to our area and people come from all over to enjoy this fest! It’s always a fun time!

You guys asked for later hours, so we’re making it happen! 🫶

THIS WEEK:
Tuesday 8:30–5
Wednesday 8:30–6
Thursday 8:30–6
Friday 8:30–6
Saturday 10–4

That means starting this week, you’ll have an extra hour to stop in after work Wednesday, Thursday & Friday! 🙌 And starting this Saturday, we’ll be opening at 10 instead of 9.

Then starting NEXT WEEK, our hours will be:
Tuesday 10–5
Wednesday 10–6
Thursday 10–6
Friday 10–6
Saturday 10–3

These will be our regular York hours through the end of the year, and then we’ll reassess and see what makes the most sense moving forward!

I’m excited to give you guys more time to shop after work Wednesday–Friday, and I really appreciate everyone who gave feedback when I asked about later hours. 🥰

Today we picked up the BUILDING PERMIT for our new sink at Lancaster Central Market! 🥹🙌

We’ve been working behind the scenes for a while now with one big goal: bringing more of what we offer in York to Lancaster!

And let me tell you… this little project has been a JOURNEY. 😂 There’s been a lot to learn, a lot of questions to ask, and a lot of pieces to put together.

As a small business, it’s also really important to us to make smart decisions when we invest in growing. We got quotes from two different plumbers, compared our options, found the perfect sink on Marketplace, AND scored the appliance we’ll be using to heat your food brand new, never opened and still in the box on Marketplace too. 🙌

We’re really happy with how everything has come together — and now that the permit is officially IN OUR HANDS, it’s time to schedule the work and get this thing DONE!

Last here around this time is when we started offering protein shakes for the first time and you have all loved them! We’re back with the Zapple and Pumpkin Shakes and a brand new Pumpkin Cheesecake Cold Brew! 😋

Kensie started school today with CCA, which means she does school remotely! 🥹 This gives her the chance to spend some extra time with me at the café, see what Mom does all day, and connect with so many of you along the way.

You may have met her here before—she loves being at Safe & Sweet, chatting with you guys, and getting to see this little business of ours from the inside. 💕

Now I’ll admit that I’m absolutely using this cute picture of us to grab your attention and ask you something… 😂

With some upcoming staffing changes, we’re looking at switching up our hours a bit, and I’d really love to hear what works best for you guys.

The parking lot is getting sealed in sections, which means it’s turned into a 3-day process — and we’re on day 2. 🫠

Half of the parking lot is taped off right now, so it may LOOK like you can’t come in… but you absolutely can! We’re OPEN and there’s still parking available. 🫶

And please do come in, because the case is filling up and these treats are ready to find their forever homes. 😂
