Sometimes my friends manage to get me to make cakes for them 🤪 just a couple smash cakes I’ve made this summer for two sets of one year old boy/girl twins! 💙💗

These are 6” 3 tiered yellow cakes with very lightly almond flavored frosting, because I think that no flavor tastes strange, clear vanilla tastes weird, and regular vanilla makes me have to use a lot more white . And yes, once in a while I use fondant cut outs purely for decoration with something I truly could not pipe (but I still think it tastes nasty 🤢)

A few weeks ago having fun ! 🤠

I love supporting makers, creators, and small businesses, and my girl Brook .co is one of the best - if you ever see me wearing clay earrings, I can guarantee you they came from her. She hand makes all of these amazing designs! The quality is fabulous, her creativity knows no bounds, and to top it off she is such a sweet, caring soul. If you’ve been looking for some fun jewelry I highly suggest you check out her shop!

In honor of my birthday eve 🎂 let’s take another look at one of my favorite cakes I’ve ever made that somehow never made it to my grid 😝 because this one deserves to live on forever.

I don’t call myself an artist, and this is certainly not the best leopard cake you’ll ever see, but for an amateur I think she’s alright 🐆 fun fact: I actually had a bubble in my buttercream for the first time ever and I was terrified but she held together and the birthday girl loved it! Buttercream was colored with electric gels and leopard was hand painted with edible paint.

Rainbow leopard goodness 🌈 strawberry cake with Oreo filling, at the request of a 5 year old - and it was a super yummy combo I’d have never dreamed up myself!

What’s the craziest cake flavor combo you can think of that might actually be amazing!? 🧁

SHE IS COMPLETE ⚒🧰

If you’ve been following my stories - you’re probably just as glad as I am that this playset assembly/makeover is officially finished! 😍

This is the Skyfort Elite, exclusive to ! Backyard Discovery’s customer service and quick responses for missing/damaged parts and hardware during assembly was SO quick and easy. A great company, and a solid product! 🙌🏼

After a nightmare fiasco with Sam’s cousin Walmart and a different playset that never completely arrived I’m actually glad that happened because this one is probably going to last us much longer! 😁 And Gage is thrilled - it’s been 100+ all week and I can barely keep that kid inside! He’s been waiting for months at this point (I ordered the first one that never totally came in early March 😳)

Now for the “makeover” (of a new playset lol) 🎨 I primed with stainblocking/bonding primer - My favorite primer for interior AND exterior! I used Marquee Exterior Satin Enamel paint in Ultra Pure White (literally the white you can grab right off the shelf) and the Black is Valspar Duramax Satin Tricorn Black! Because I didn’t want to paint black on white or vice versa, I painted as we assembled! Coupled with extreme heat 1 week, meaning I couldn’t really paint anything, this left us with lots of starts and stops, so all in all it took about 3 1/2 weeks to complete! 🔥 It was a LOT of hard work. Sometimes frustrating. But I’m really happy that we pushed through and did it, and very happy with how it turned out! Once the weather cools I’m planning to put a stencil on the floor to cut down on dirt marks from dirty feet, but that’s neither here nor there and really just for mom’s eyes 😂

Let me know if you have any questions about the process and if you’ve ever thought about making over your playset!! 💙

Welcome, new friends! It’s been awhile since I introduced myself, so here goes. I’m Whitney, a full time mom and makeup lover (among many other things) currently living near Yuba City, CA - but I’ve lived literally all over the world 🌏 I love, love, love to bake 🍰 and I’m also passionate about fitness 🏋🏼‍♀️ (and how loving both can sometimes seem like they don’t go together 😂).

I also LOVE helping women learn to feel great in their own skin 💙 whether that’s through makeup and great skincare, sharing my love language of sweets, or my Street Parking workout stories that show you don’t have to look like a fitness model to post your workouts on the ‘gram!

I’m so glad you’re here! Tell me where you’d live if you could live anywhere in the world!

These types of pictures used to be a LOT more frequent around here! Last year I went from manis every 3 weeks to…… literally getting one the entire year.

I mean, we all know the main reason why 🙄 But I was also doing a lot more hard labor renoing our house and yard and I’m sure my nails would have always been a mess anyway 😭 But I finally found a new nail tech after my dear Jennah moved south and I’m ready to get back to having nice nails again!

did this cute remix of one of my favorite summer manis I’ve had in the past recently! If you’re looking for a nail tech in Yuba City, see if she can fit you in her schedule! 💅🏼

Spring is my favorite season around here because the weather is basically always perfect - Sunny, just the right amount of hot, and not humid. We basically live outside as much as we can! And Gage loves when we hear the ice cream truck coming down the street to get a cold treat (on the off chance mama has cash 😂)

What’s your favorite season where you live!? @ Plumas Lake, California

Hot off the presses!!! 🔥 We got SO much good new stuff in in April and today some girlfriends and I had a short info day over on Facebook! I did a live eye tutorial where I realized halfway through I had left my mascara in the kitchen 😂 and Gage added some sound effects with his Buzz Lightyear blaster…. Let me know if you need an invite to check that out!

This week only get 15% off your entire order and free shipping when you order any new product or the spring eye bundle! 💐
