43 things i’ve learned (and then some...)
1. Early bedtime is a love language.
2. Coffee outside in the morning in the best way to start the day
3. Humor can make any situation better.
4. Treat everyone with love and grace, even if they don’t receive or reciprocate.
5. Learn to read the room.
6. Connection is the key- finding a common thread with everyone is possible.
7. Meet people where they are.
8. It’s ok to change your mind.
9. Make decisions for you and your family.
10. Learn to say no, and be ok with the results.
11. Friendships are important, and they ebb and flow.
12. There are no “wrong” decisions- because you can always pivot.
13. Give people grace, you really don’t know what they’re going through.
14. People are more concerned with themselves than you, promise.
15. You can not say “he/she thinks this about me;” we can not read other people’s minds.
16. It’s ok to wear makeup and dress up if that makes you happy.
17. You don’t have to shrink to make others feel comfortable.
18. Passive aggressiveness is cruel.
19. Yelling to get your point across is childish.
20. We would all act like toddlers sometimes if it were socially acceptable, but it’s not.

Senior Sunday

Who knew the decision at the end of 5th grade to play the trombone would lead to this adventure? (Then came the tuba….which led to marching the sousaphone and a contra for DCI, throw in a bass trombone and some keyboard bass to round out his high school band experience.)

So thankful for the bond N&H have over band.

Continually in awe of these insanely talented kids. 💖

This was my very favorite ornament growing up. Maybe 4-5 years ago, it broke at my parent’s house. I don’t mind stuff breaking, I’m not super sentimental in that regard. But this definitely made me a little sad.

For my birthday this year, mom gave me another one, exactly the same, from 1985. I love it so much. It was only $4.50 then, I won’t ask how much it was on eBay. 😆

It’s funny what little things we hold on to and cherish- and how it’s different for each of us.
