✨ Why does yellow, brassy bleached hair need to be lightened again before going lighter?
This is one of the questions we get asked the most. 💛
Many people think that a toner or hair color can make bleached hair lighter. In reality, hair color and toner cannot lighten previously bleached hair—they only change its tone.
👉 If your hair still has yellow or yellow-orange undertones:
• Toner can only neutralize some of the unwanted warmth.
• The final color may still look yellow, dull, or different from your desired result.
• Cool blonde, beige blonde, or platinum shades won’t be achievable.
To achieve a clean, bright blonde, the process is:
✨ Lighten the hair to the appropriate level first.
✨ Then apply a toner to neutralize the remaining warmth and create the final shade.
