Free State Premier MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae and Mangaung Mayor Gregory Nthatisi are under fire over claims that government money was used to host an ANC January 8 celebration disguised as a heritage event in Bloemfontein.

The event, held at the ANC’s birthplace, featured ANC regalia, rituals and slaughtered livestock — despite denials it was political. Senior ANC figures have since contradicted the official version, with a leaked memo further raising questions.
