Being diagnosed with HIV can be shocking and incredibly upsetting, but with proper care and treatment, you can live a long and healthy life. This is not to say that living with HIV doesnโ€™t come with challenges, but it is no longer the death sentence it was once perceived to be.

If youโ€™re newly diagnosed with HIV, start by taking a deep breath. No matter how afraid, sad or angry you might feel, you will feel better as you start working closely with a health care provider and begin surrounding yourself with the support you need.

How to care for a loved one who has tested HIV positive..?

Support, Acceptance and Belonging is very vital from both our families and loved one's, knowing that there's someone who gives u support to keep taking your medication and following up ur next appointments. It motivates positive people not to give up...mostly people who are positive fear rejection and stigma and mostly part from our families how the family behaves after finding out that a person is HIV positive is definitely the only thing will make them to survive love them, care about them. HIV doesn't spread by hugging, showing care sharing food, bed and all that it's in our blood streams only thing they should look out for is not to get contact with a blood of the positive person if they too sick use handgloves to protect yourself.. My Advise. Go get tested know ur status and if tested positive make sure u stay on treatment always no matter how u feel never miss ur time pill and your adherence must be 100% advise those who have defaulted to get back on treatment Because ... ... I LOVE YOU ALL โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

3 categories of people:
*UNKNOWN status
*UNTREATED HIV
*STOPPED

These are both dangerous & at high risk because they can:
*infect others
*get advanced HIV diseases that lead to de@th.

Way out:
We must test all, treat all, retain all on , & maintain .
3 categories of people are still out there. I am really concerned more of category 3 folks who may likely develop resistant strain as a result of abandoning treatment. All the categories needs to get tested and placed on Treatment ASAP. is real...

Can people with HIV have a family ?

Yes. Taking antiretroviral treatment properly during pregnancy means women with HIV can have healthy pregnancies and give birth to healthy, HIV-negative babies.... This is called U = U .... Undetectable = Untransmitable...

Did you know that you can get HIV from someone whose HIV test is negative ?

Yes, During this window period, a person may have a high viral load and be highly infectious, yet their test results may still come back negative because the virus hasn't reached detectable levels in their bloodstream.

Therefore, if someone is newly infected with HIV, they might test negative and still be able to transmit the virus to others...

Treating reckless transmissions of HIV as a crime does not result in reduced transmissions or a greater public understanding of HIV.

We strive to limit the detrimental impact of HIV prosecutions. You can read more here ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡??
