Clients with a lot of hair are usually so worried that it’s “too much work” for us as stylists, but honestly… transformations like this are such a privilege. The more hair, the bigger the transformation, and those are always my favourite kinds of results to create.

Her hair is an absolute dream. 🤍

We decided on a lighter balayage ombré. I did teasy lights throughout while keeping the face frame bright and seamless, then went in with a wet balayage on the ends to create that soft ombré effect using Indola’s Clay Lightener — which I’m completely obsessed with.

I’m honestly so proud of how this colour turned out. 🔥

To think we started from BLACK and ended with this gorgeous, seamless blend. 😍

What a colour correction 😍🔥

As you can see, my client’s hair had a lot of orange and yellow warmth from roots to ends, so our first priority was correcting and brightening her blonde.

She normally comes in once a year for a refresh and we usually keep her blonde soft, bright, and natural with a balayage look. While she was out of Bloemfontein, she went in to have her roots touched up and unfortunately ended up with unwanted warmth and banding throughout her hair.

I started with her face frame, then went in with freehand painting through the mid-lengths and ends using Indola Clay Lightener to lift out the darker pigments and soften some of the bands.

After that, I finished everything off with a reverse balayage, keeping it one level lighter than her natural regrowth for a softer, more blended grow-out.
I’m honestly so proud of this transformation, and even more grateful that we managed to keep her hair in such beautiful condition throughout the process 🤍
