Almost 15 years ago, the power of a seminar changed the trajectory of my career. That seminar ignited something in my mind. While stylists that were with me there left unchanged and full of negative opinions on the seminar.

One seminar. Two very different outcomes for me and the stylists that attended with me.

The stylist that featured in that seminar 15 years ago was kind enough to mentor me when i reached out to her, and when she returned to Bloem i volunteered to assist, that day, on stage, to my utter surprise she stood on stage and called me by name, made me stand up in-front of everyone and she said "that girl is going places" she saw something in me back then that i hadn't even seen myself yet. Throughout my career i have always given her credit Jean Witte she gave me one condition back then, to pour into others. Do the same for other stylist. I have held true to my promise.

And tonight i might not stand on a stage as she did that day when she pointed me out as the girl to watch, but on this stage that is called social media i am pointing out Béla Molnar and he is a man to be watched.

He is wildly talented. He is kind. He is to be watched. Because he's going places. And i hope Wella Professionals SA keeps their eye on him too.

He has recently opened his own salon and started his career later in his life, a true testament of what determination and passion can accomplish. He is also one of very few stylists in Bloem that has shown me nothing but kindness. I honour his talents. I respect him and what he's building.

Talent should be protected, nurtured and encouraged. Not feared. Or diminished. You can accomplish much more by supporting someone than trying to break them down.
