Why Matric Ball Gowns Cost What They Do?🤔

As this matric season winds down, I’ve noticed many conversations about gown prices — and it’s worth sharing a little insight.

Every eveningwear fabric used in couture design is imported, often narrow in width and delicate to work with. Some range from R2 000 to R8 500 per meter, before a single stitch is sewn or several layers needed underneath.

Each gown requires hours of preparation, careful hand-finishing, and patience — not quick sewing-machine work. Adjusting designs or unpicking delicate fabrics can add many hours and risk damaging the material.😭

At Nadia Block Couture, I don’t use glue-based shortcuts. Quality, structure, and longevity matter.

So while every client deserves their dream gown ✨, it’s important that budget and expectation align. With early planning and clear communication, the process becomes smoother for everyone.

Each gown created this season was made with integrity, artistry, and heart. 💫
