16 June 1976 was a major turning point in South African history. The protests by Soweto school children on that day marked the end of submissiveness on the part of the black population of South Africa and the beginning of a new militancy in the struggle against apartheid. South Africa would never be the same again.
Youth Day commemorates the Soweto youth uprising of 16 June 1976. In 1975 protests started in African schools after a directive from the then Bantu Education Department that Afrikaans had to be used on an equal basis with English as a language of instruction in secondary schools.
Today we remember the brave students who protested against Afrikaans as the only medium of language for education.

Happy Youth Day! ❤️

✨Africa✨
By Wayne Visser()

Africa
Gondwana
Born of Pangaea
When separation first started
Like a unicell dividing

Africa
Spilt from India
And from America parted
Cut adrift and subsiding

Birthplace
Of all humankind
Whose seed has been scattered
Far from the Ma tree

Darkspace
That light left behind
From progress that mattered
In the quest to be free

Battleground
Of tribe against tribe
Whose rivers of tears
Still bloodstain the sand

Whispersound
Of fate’s changing tide
As hope’s rising years
Unify this great land

Happy Africa Day! ❤️

Haemophilia is a rare, inherited, genetic blood disorder that happens when your blood doesn’t clot and make your bleeding slow down or stop.

Haemophilia happens when people don’t have the normal amount of clotting factors which results in an increased risk of bleeding or bruising.

Clotting factors(proteins)help blood clot thus, healthcare providers treat haemophilia by replacing the missing clotting proteins.

Haemophilia is caused by a mutation or change, in one of the genes, that provides instructions for making clotting proteins needed to form a blood clot. This change or mutation can prevent the clotting protein from working properly or to be missing altogether. These genes are located on the X chromosome.

There is currently no cure for haemophilia, a rare bleeding disorder.

Happy World Haemophilia Day.❤️
