**THROWBACK THURSDAY**

On the 4th of February 2023, the world was officially introduced to .

I never intended to write a book. At least not one about a basic topic like walking! I have always loved the simple act of walking, its power to calm the mind, and restore the soul. As my own life became more demanding, I found myself seeking the open road more and more, relishing in the humble pilgrim’s lifestyle and the simplicity it offers. As I did so, I noticed the increasing value, both therapeutic and pure enjoyment, of walking.

This book has grown so much over the past few months, and I am so grateful to each and every one who has supported me during this journey.

Women on Camino

I am often asked how safe it is to walk a Camino as a woman.

Overseas pilgrimages have an excellent reputation when it comes to personal safety.  Women of all ages can walk confidently on their own. A pilgrims' spirit is to look out for each other. Sharing and protecting is very prevalent on pilgrimages.

Even in South Africa, a country with a reputation for violence, the various pilgrimages follow safe pathways and are mostly done in groups. I have never felt unsafe during any of the pilgrimages I was on.

Life on Camino

Combarro is a magical little fishing village on the Galician coast of Spain outside the beautiful city of Pontevedra. It forms part of the Spiritual Variante on the Portuguese Camino. For pilgrims doing the alternative Spiritual Variante, this tiny little fishing village will be one of the highlights of your pilgrimage.

Life on Camino..

Walking with a full backpack, I found a few Donativos next to the road (snacks along the road, using an honesty tin), having fun along the way and having the best time of my life!
