Today is a day that will forever hold the deepest place in my heart

Fourteen years ago, my life changed in the most beautiful way. Through every smile, every challenge, every lesson, and every unforgettable moment, you are part of a journey that shaped me just as much as I shaped you.

As I stand today doing something so meaningful in my own journey, my heart is also celebrating the incredible 14 years of love, strength, growth, and memories we share.

You are part of every chapter, every dream, and every step forward. Our story continues, and I am so grateful that I get to walk this life with you.
To my daughter, thank you for being my reason, my inspiration, and one of my life’s greatest blessings.

Today, I honor the beautiful journey behind us and the many more pages still waiting to be written together.

Why I wrote The Daughter I Never Had

There was a moment when everything I thought motherhood would look like… shifted.

When my daughter was diagnosed with autism, I found myself holding two truths at once - deep, unconditional love… and a quiet grief I did not expect. Grief for the life I had imagined, the moments I thought we would share, the path I believed we would walk together.

And in that space, I felt alone.

There were not enough honest conversations about what parents really go through behind closed doors - the confusion, the fear, the guilt for even feeling that grief while loving your child so fiercely.

So I started writing.

I wrote for the parents who sit with those same emotions, unsure if they are allowed to feel them.
I wrote to say: it is okay to grieve what you imagined and still love what is, completely.
I wrote for the journey - from uncertainty and pain to acceptance, strength, and something deeper.
I wrote to remind families that they are not alone.

Because somewhere along the way, something changed.

What I once saw as loss slowly transformed into something else - something richer, more profound. A love that is not built on expectations, but on presence, patience, and understanding.

The Daughter I Never Had is not a story about losing something.
It is a story about discovering a different kind of love.
