When you enter my practice at Wasana Thai Massage Blouberg, you may have noticed these three special symbols placed with intention around the space.

Some of you have asked me what they mean 🌿

As I am originally from Thailand, I like to bring small pieces of my culture with me here in South Africa — not only to remind me of home, but also to create a more authentic Thai atmosphere of peace, respect, and mindfulness for my clients.

Here is what they represent:

✨ 1. The welcoming figure with the flower garland (Wai gesture)
This symbol represents traditional Thai respect and greeting. The “wai” (hands together) is a sign of gratitude, humility, and warm welcome. The floral garland reflects offering, blessings, and hospitality — something deeply rooted in Thai culture, especially in moments of respect and celebration.

🔔 2. The bell
In Thai and Buddhist tradition, the bell represents mindfulness and awareness. Its sound is used to gently bring the mind back to stillness — a reminder to slow down, breathe, and release tension. It carries the energy of peace and clarity.

🍃 3. The golden hand on the leaf
This represents the Buddha hand gesture (mudra) of blessing and inner calm, placed on a Bodhi leaf — a powerful symbol of awakening and mindfulness. It is a reminder of balance, gratitude, and protection.

Far from home, I try to keep little pieces of my culture alive in this space — not just as decoration, but as energy and meaning. My hope is that when you step inside, you can feel a sense of calm, grounding, and authentic Thai spirit.
