It's not often I leave my hair out. Especially now that winter has crept in.

There are many reasons for choosing not to leave my hair out, and those will be explained in my next post.

It's not always that this little princess let's me touch her hair. So when she does, I make it count. So I thought to take back to my childhood and how my hair used to be done by my mom.

Putting your hair in a protective style like this, does not mean you will not and should jot touch your hair for the duration of the style. NO! In fact, this is when you should take full advantage of your hair being in a protective style by making sure it remains moisturised. Doing so will serve the purpose of the hair being protected plus also maintaining healthy happy hair.

This is a testament of time, patience and learning to understand your hair. Each person's hair is different and it's growth levels alike. Do not feel compelled to compair your hair with others expecting the exact same results. Rather, do take a step back, analyse, learn and grow to love your hair. The results, will show!

It's not about conforming to the world's standards, but standing true to who you are!

Signs that your ends need a trim.

In the pics are my daughters and my hair(last pic). Notice that our ends are straggly, frayed, thinner than the hair on the main shaft, and uneven. That is a sign that your ends need a snip.

Split ends like this cause tangles, knots and ultimately breakage. Remembering too that split end travel up the hair shaft, which results in even more damage to the hair.

Dont be scared of a snip to your ends. Remember not to get scissor happy, but only trim whats needed(well in this case, what's not needed.) 😉
