FINALLY, Acceptance.

This one’s weirdly difficult to put in words, but let me try:

A common thought about this stage is that the pain ends, everything’s back to normal and the feeling of their absence will end.
Unfortunately, this isn’t it.
Acceptance means feeling their absence & feeling the occasional sting, but understanding that nothing could’ve been done about it.
It also doesn’t mean your smile is back and you can see colours again, but it does mean you’re getting close to it.

DEPRESSION
This is where I am and, I'm not gonna lie, it has me in a chokehold.
Thing is, I'm not good at handling moods and emotions I don't like. So I try distractions, work and anything else to try and push them away.

But they are always there.

Avoiding depression can't and won't work. You have to go through it, or it'll never end.

When it's softer, breathe through it and let it pass.

When it's rough, have some sweet tea, have a lie-down and wait it out.
It won't last, but you will. Promise.
