The word Hara , is linked with the word 'tanden" which is a Japanese word and can be translated to elixir field. It is therefore understood as a place in the body where the elixir of life is created. In practical terms this state of being takes space in the body a couple inches below the navel, which is closer to the spine. At the point of Hara the mind is neither here nor there as it is in complete union with the universe. In this state your mind is like water, flowing effortlessly.
