When Depression Hits

Unless you have been there no one will know what it is. It comes. Sometimes unaware. When you feel you want to cry for no reason or just want to sleep or can’t sleep at night...depression is lurking! But you don’t just want to talk to anyone about it. What will people think of you? Will they think you are “nuts?”

I remember going through a depression after experiencing a major crisis in my life. I couldn’t sleep and eat. And then I heard sometimes the voice telling me that he is going to kill me. When I looked in the mirror I could hear that voice pointing out to me how terrible my face looks and that it’s just a matter of time. I developed high blood pressure and a heart (angina) problem, having constant pain in my left arm. I eventually landed up in hospital! I HAD NO-ONE THAT I COULD TURN TO!

The good news is you don’t have to feel that way. At EdCare Wellness Centre we can help you. It is not a bad thing to ask for help. It is bad when you know help is available but you don’t make use of it. Let’s be honest in education today everybody is concerned about infrastructure and the children, NO one is concerned about the emotional and spiritual wellness of the Teacher.
