The breakouts are gone. So why are the marks still there?
That lingering brown or grey mark is often post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or PIH.
It happens when inflammation triggers extra pigment production, leaving colour behind even after the spot has healed.
PIH is not the same as an acne scar. One changes colour; the other changes texture.
