Thank you to Patrick O'Neill and his wonderful team at Key Trucks for their ongoing support of our 24-bed Respite Unit and for living up to their slogan ! HACT has been one of the Key Foundation's charitable beneficiaries for several years now and we are so grateful that even in these tough times, they are still helping us to keep the doors to our Respite Unit open! Today our team was presented with a cheque for R13 000 and a delicious cake for our Respite Unit patients and staff to enjoy!

In times of crisis, we know that children living with or affected by HIV/AIDS are especially vulnerable to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation which is why our OVCY (Orphaned & Vulnerable Children & Youth) Programme team has continued working tirelessly throughout the lockdown period to ensure these children and their families still get the practical and emotional support they need.

Over the past 3 months, our OVCY team has assisted 3984 vulnerable children and young people below the age of 18 years, through counselling, HIV testing and linkage to care. 215 of these children are HIV+ and thanks to the ongoing support of our case workers, we are proud to say that all of them have been retained on life-saving antiretroviral treatment (ART) despite the upheaval the pandemic has wrought on their daily lives.
