I do love a tray of freshly cut soap. Before any trimming and wrapping and labelling happens. This is the stuff.

The making of a bestseller…
Lavender and Tea Tree soap with activated charcoal. It’s a great bar for dirty, oily bodies and can be used on the face as well.

Gentle Olive Oil & Honey soap bars… you don’t get a kinder bar of soap than one made from olive oil and shea butter. These bars are softly scented with lavender and vanilla essential oils and contain raw honey which speeds up the skin’s healing, balances bacteria levels, soothes inflammation and deeply moisturises.

Did you know… Most of the bar or liquid soaps you buy in the supermarkets are not actually soap, they’re synthetically derived detergents.
Natural, handmade soap is made with oils and lye in a process called saponification. Once the oils and lye have been sufficiently mixed and saponification has occurred there is no lye left in the product, it has all been used up and neutralised by the oils and butters.
Please buy natural soap… for your health’s sake.

Making another batch of Green Shampoo Blocks for normal hair.
This bar is made with coconut, olive, castor and avocado oil with Shea butter and a green tea infusion. Its fresh, herbal scent comes from the essential oil blend of rosemary, clary sage and lemon.
Changing over to using soap based shampoo bars instead of store bought liquid shampoo requires a bit of patience. You need to be prepared for up to a few weeks of transition while your scalp adjusts its oil production to the new shampoo. These shampoo blocks are formulated so that they leave some of their oils in the hair and don’t dry it out, but that means that your hair may feel a bit oily sooner than usual when you start using the blocks. Don’t give up, your scalp will adjust in time, and your hair will thank you.

The changing face of my soap … it’s been 7 years since I made the first batch of soap and I’ve experimented with techniques, made lots of mistakes, done a ton of research… and I’m still learning more with every batch I make.
