As we announced at the end of last year, A GreenBlue Life is officially closed down 😔. Unfortunately, we didn't have the personal capacity to keep it going with the other current priorities in our lives.

Thank you to each and every one of you that supported us - shared our posts, entered our competitions, helped us plant 200 trees and purchased products that are better for you and for the planet! We hope that you will continue on your zero waste journey 🌍

We are taking a chance here, but there's no harm in trying! You may have seen our notifications at the end of last year that we were closing down the physical product side of our zero waste, vegan, natural product business because we are moving to another province and will not have the time to maintain it 😔

We had an offer from someone to purchase A GreenBlue Life from us, but it unfortunately wasn't the right timing. We put a lot into creating this company and would hate to see it disappear completely!

This quote is a little bit different from our usual ones, but we feel it comes with a good message 💙

During the holiday season, it becomes extremely easy to focus on the physical items that you scour the shops for for your loved ones, or the presents that you get given 🎁 but December is a time where many of us are lucky enough to be able to celebrate with those who love us and who we love ❤️

This is us encouraging you to take some time this season to show a larger amount than usual of gratitude and love to those who are special in your life. Too often do we forget what is truly important 👫👫

Did you know that wrapping paper isn't recyclable? It has a thin plastic coating that doesn't allow it to biodegrade either 😧. Each year, the UK alone throws over 400 000 km of Christmas wrapping paper away 🎄... That's almost enough for a one-way trip to the moon! 🌕

Why not explore some environmentally friendly options for wrapping this holiday season 🎅? Here are some ideas for sustainable ways to wrap your presents this year 🎁:

1. Use plain brown paper - no shiny coat like normal wrapping paper, decorate with brown, white or red string, stamps, plants or just leave it plain! 🌹

2. Use newspaper or pages from an old book 📙

3. Use 'paper tape' or washi tape which don't have plastic bases like most tape does! 📦 This can be found at most craft stores.

4. Wrap in reusable fabric, there are so many cute ideas online ❤️

5. Reuse gift bags that you already have at home 🛍️

PLEASE don't buy plastic wrapping paper this holiday! It's such an easy way to reduce your plastic waste during the holidays 🎄❤️

Vanessa Nakate, Ugandan Climate Activist, spoke with an optimistic voice at the recent COP26 Climate Change Conference 🗣 where she said that no action and no voice is too small to make a difference. She asked for us to keep the faith in our future, which will give us the hope for the world not yet seen, but the world that we can imagine 💭

“We are in a crisis,” she said. “We are in a disaster that is happening every day.”

But she also offered words of hope, suggesting that change could happen if activists continued to hold leaders accountable for harming the climate 🌍

For years now, big companies have ignored the Earth’s warning signs to benefit from the valuable treasures that the planet has to offer 🌍. Unfortunately, animals often become the biggest victim while humans fill their pockets 💸 and this time the lives of THOUSANDS of dolphins, fish, whales, and other sea animals are at stake 🐬😢

Every so often we like to remind you why we started A GreenBlue Life. As much as we encourage a zero-waste lifestyle, decreasing your impact on the planet and explaining why natural is the best way to go, we also enjoy educating you about the earth and other areas that it could use our help and awareness 🌿🧐

As you probably already know, the poaching of rhinos is a huge problem 🦏. Thankfully, poaching numbers have decreased across Africa since the worst recorded year in 2015. Yet, at least one rhino is still killed every day: there is a lot more to do 😔

Dehorning has become a popular method to protect these magnificent creatures, but for dehorning to be effective, it must also be coupled with extensive anti-poaching security and monitoring efforts 👮🕵️‍♀️

Our goal is to get to 200 trees by the end of 2021. With every product you purchase, you plant one tree 😄 and remember, we've added the option for you to add extra trees to your orders! Whenever we are notified of one of these purchases, we add an extra tree to our tally. Every time we reach 50 trees, we do our next batch of planting through Tree-Nation 💚

Well, the environment is what houses and helps our ecosystem grow and thrive. Without protecting and taking care of our environment we're putting so many lives at danger including animals, plants, crops, and of course our own. All of the ecosystems that make up our environment are deeply connected 👫.

It matters because Earth is the only home that humans have, it plays an important role in healthy living and the existence of life 🌱. Earth is a home for different living species and we all are dependent on the environment for clean air, food, and other needs. The environment is an important issue even when society is faced with economic crises, wars, and unending social problems. 🌍

The time to act is now.
