In this weeks recovery tip i will briefly talk about Myofascial release.
Myofascial (my-o-FASH-e-ul) release is a manual therapy technique often used in massage. The technique focuses on pain believed to arise from myofascial tissues — the tough membranes that wrap, connect and support your muscles.
The real difference lies in how MFR is performed, so that this connective tissue is addressed. Instead of just massaging into the muscles, MFR uses slow, steady pressure along with sustained stretching to gently soften that fascia over and through the muscles, more effectively releasing the tension throughout. In the video I use a barbell instead of a foam roller because I enjoy the weight and pressure of a barbell and find it easier to pin point the trigger point I want to put pressure on.

The latissimus dorsi is a large, flat muscle on the back that stretches to the sides, behind the arm, and is partly covered by the trapezius on the back near the midline.
The latissimus dorsi is responsible for extension, adduction, transverse extension also known as horizontal abduction (or horizontal extension), flexion from an extended position, and (medial) internal rotation of the shoulder joint. It also has a synergistic role in extension and lateral flexion of the lumbar spine.
If you were to tell me I could only to one exercise until I die, I would do the back squat. Purely because I love how it makes me feel.
In my opinion the squat and its variations are the absolute best leg builder exercises out there.
Back squats ,if done correctly, target the posterior chain — or the back of your body — including the lower back, glutes, and hamstrings. The quads and core are also engaged.
